Van Life Reality Check
There are many videos on youtube depicting how it is to live and travel in a Van. The most popular and most viewed videos may give a misleading impression of how it is to live the Van Life. The following youtube video content creator, I believe, helps to give a proper impression of Van Life:

Some videos glamorize van life, with a good soundtrack, drone aerial views, and scantily clad women and men (content) and unfortunately, It Works! People tend to subscribe to those videos more often than the more realistic videos. No offense to Johnny and Sabrina or to the Millennial VanLifers, with all the resources and talent at their disposal they'll be fine.
(I'm vegetarian almost vegan, and yet I still find the above person funny)

At other times, one must ask, how do they support themselves while living and traveling in a van? I never see videos of them working or going to work. One could guess that if the videos are sufficiently popular then they can make a living from youtube monetization, though it is questionable whether the monetization could provide for all monthly expenses.

I believe Toby has it right, you may have to work for about 5 months at a night job to save up enough to then spend the next 7 months traveling. This seems more realistic to me, this is the nature of living and traveling in a Van.

The best Van Build I have seen on youtube, mostly because of the toilet/shower combo. In fact this is one of the Few Van builds with a separate and walled off, enclosed space for the toilet/shower. When I begin my own Van build, one of the first compartments I will build will be a walled off, enclosed space with a toilet/shower combo.
