Secret Socieites?

As I was listening to the audio of a geoengineering update by Dane Wignignton I heard a clip of a speech given by John F. Kennedy in which he referenced secret societies:

It didn't occur to me until today that JFK's mention of secret societies in his speech, can be construed as circumstantial evidence of their existence.

In essence we can say that because a U.S. president mentioned that some people are beholden to secret oaths and secret societies we can with some certainty say that secret societies do exist.

P.S. After hearing the entire speech, it became evident that JFK was concerned about the media revealing information to the public that could be used by those who opposed the U.S. in 1961. Though he did not specifically name the groups or countries he was referring to one could conclude that he meant the world wide communism.

If so then why mention secret societies, secret oaths, and secret proceedings? This is especially puzzling when the communist threat in 1961 was not secret. Though proceedings in those countries were closed to the west, it was not due to any secret society but, due to their own publicly stated policies. So, if these secret societies, oaths, and proceedings most likely, did not refer to the communists then to whom was he referring?

Was he referring to possible existing secret societies in the Western World?
