Energy Lecture for the Week: Solar Power and Electricity
Due to the naturally occurring high pressure systems in Arizona
and New Mexico there is less cloud cover. I wonder why Arizona wasn't
mentioned, the region in and around Yuma Arizona receives the most
amount of sunlight hours compared to anywhere else in the U.S. Too much
"influence" from Mormon Uranium Interests? Or what is the problem, oil
companies, SRP, APS, did you eat too much of the "real" baby back ribs
in a secret ritual? What's the problem?
Cloud cover can now be controlled by using geoengineering. Moisture
laden air masses can be dried up by over spraying them with condensation
forming particulates. Hence, intermittent solar energy production due
to passing clouds isn't as big a problem as we thought.
In regards to passive house design. Vacuum panel insulation could be used in the construction of houses, thereby bringing down the amount of heat loss to or heat entry from the environment. This isn't as difficult as it appears, many modern homes already make extensive use of vacuum panels in the form of double pane windows:

Vacuum panels are already used as insulation. They have a much lower thermal conductivity when compared to traditional insulation:

We could further lower the thermal conductivity by covering the surfaces of the panel with materials similar to those used in the former space shuttle:

There is another more hypothetical way to build an insulated housing structure.We could construct a building made of two shells, an outer shell and and inner shell. The two shells would be constructed as to not touch. The inner shell would be supported by making contact with the outer shell at the door and window frames.
Another idea would be to support the inner shell using cone shaped supports. The base of the cone could be attached to the surface of the inner shell and the tip of the cone would make contact with the outer shell. The tip of the cones could be rounded so as to the reduce the pressure exerted on the outer shell. Since the area that would be in contact with the outer shell would be small the heat transfer would also be small.
Once the inner shell is supported most of the air between the shells could be pumped out. To insure the outer or inner shells don't crack or break due to the massive amount of force from the air pushing on their surfaces, the surfaces of the shells could have I-beams continuously welded around their surfaces.
By doing this we greatly restrict the surfaces through which heat could flow into the residence or out of the residence thereby providing nearly perfect insulation.

He says that gas prices go up because owners need to pay for all of the free stuff that they give out, like paper towels, soap, water, etc. (Dipping a bucket into a well of gasoline,...that's not safe!)
Hour 2: Art Griego joined us in the second hour to discuss the Peruvian pilot who shot down the missionary plane. Art thinks it was because of an Incan uprising against missionaries. (Apparently the CIA is afraid of the Lightning Dance!)
Hour 3: Jeff Dowder kicked off the final hour. Some guy called 911 after an accident, and not only did he not say thank you, but he didn’t offer a reward either. How ungrateful…
Phil wrapped up the show to give his non-controversial controversy: “I do not like Who Wants to be a Millionaire. I could get fired for this…”

I found the title interesting, so I decided to watch the movie, it is quite entertaining, it features Jack Palance.
Here is a good idea for a movie, instead of Cowboys and Indians, why not Cowboys and Predators!! The predator picks up on some of the cowboy lingo and of course when the predator is trapped, it laughs manically!! like this:
It would be interesting if the cowboys just started blasting the range like this:
I could just imagine, John Wayne saying "What the F-?", "They were skinned alive!"
